Greengrocers Retail Store wished to own a simple logo design that can visuall communicate its business message to the targeted audience. Simplicity of the design was important to the store as it had only a small budget which restricted it from launching a marketing campaign in a big way. So, the logo itself was to be an advertisement means for the store for reaching out to the people.
The client received many design entries in response to the contest launched on the site. Ultimately, the client selected a simple logo created by Michael Wiled as winning design. The designer was awarded with first prize of $359.
The store launched a logo design contest on our site Designhill with the clear briefing that the design must be simple without any complex use of elements. It was a right design brief since any complexity from the designers would have spoiled the very idea of making the logo an effective marketing tool as well. The veg and fruit seller client asked the designers to choose from banana, green leaf and orange as main fruit to be incorporated in the design so that the customers can know about the store’s business.
The winning logo design has banana as fruit but the fruit gives the impression also of someone smiling. This sends the message that the stores offers its services in a manner that makes the customers happy. It is a text based logo with the store’s initials VFS designed at the top of the fruit. The tag line Vage &Fruit Shop is written on the fruit.
The client received 65 design entries in response to the contest. These varied design concepts were submitted by 21 designers who participated in the contest. The client offered timely feedbacks to the designers during the process and it helped them in making required improvements.
