“ I've now used Designhill twice. Once for a logo and once for a website. Both times I was impressed with the quality of output and number of designs at my fingertips to choose from. The community here is awesome and I found that I quickly overwhelmed by choice, which was a good thing! ”

Briefly describe what you do and your target audience.
bell-iconLast Modified on August 14, 2020, 02:18 am
I am a senior technologist who has built a software development career and shifted into technical leadership. I am working on continuing to grow my technology career as a tech executive and thought leader.

I have 2 audiences:
1. Fellow tech enthusiasts, coworkers, and others in the same industry who can read up on my findings, thoughts, and opinions on latest tech trends.
2. Prospective employers looking for thought leadership in the technical executive arena
If you have an existing website, please list it here.

What ideas do you have for the style/theme of your blog design?
bell-iconLast Modified on August 17, 2020, 02:30 pm
I'm looking to redesign me current site: http://johnzeren.com/

1. I want it to have a clean look with a bit of an edge (I like metalic textures and colors). I also have a new logo to go with the new design.

2.I am open to new color pallets and exciting ideas.

3.I want people looking at the site to immediately know they are looking at website for a leader in the software development industry.
Any particular style/theme you have in mind?

I like clean websites that go full width (and can easily convert to mobile).

I like metalic textures. Dark colors (blue, red, rust, orange, but maybe not all together).
What would you like on each page?
bell-iconLast Modified on August 17, 2020, 02:31 pm
1.On the home page I would like something very graphical, a large high res image that is interesting.

2.I want the home to probably have a carousel (like my current site: http://johnzeren.com/) where the main image takes focus with a call to action on it.

3.I also like having large "icon" type images for linking to different sections of my site.

4. On the secondary page I'd like a space for a featured image for each post. I think a spot for image gallery would also be good as I might often have galleries.

5.I also would like to have additional images throughout my posts. I often post screen shots of code or product examples.
What websites can designers draw inspiration from?

https://www.playstation.com/en-us/

What do you like about these site?
bell-iconLast Modified on August 14, 2020, 07:07 am
I like the large imagery on the home page.

I like the card format for listing blog or article entries (with a featured image in the card to click into the main post or page)

I like the wide designs that fill the screen no matter what size.

I like the use of image gallaries and sliders..

I like the use of social icons and icon based links for similar themed items.

List any colors, themes or other elements that you don't want included.

I'm open to some creativity. The type of content on my current site is the type of content I'll be adding to the redesigned site.
Is there anything else you would like to communicate to the designers?
bell-iconLast Modified on August 14, 2020, 07:08 am
I'm not sure if I want a light background or dark background. It might be good to show samples that are inverted to start to help me narrow in on which direction to take it.
