Book cover for a funny piece of non-fiction that redefines our understanding of human society.

What is the title of your book?
Understanding Our Whole
What is the author’s name?
Narcis Marincat
About the author
From the USA but currently working and studying in the UK, Narcis Marincat is very passionate about the themes running through his latest book. Although the subjects it tackles are approached in a humorous way this time, they are the result of over a decade of research included in various publications, so it's his babe.
What genre does your book fall under?
  • (1) Non-fiction

Add a blurb or a short description of what your book is about.
You hear the term tossed about all the time...Society this, society that. Society is crumbling! Society is improving! Society rhymes with sobriety (Ok, maybe that last one may only be known by people who play Scrabble or have a serious drinking issue.)
But what is human society anyway, this worldwide thing that we're all part of and that we keep talking about? Is it actually a thing? Is it a being? Or is it like a cone, and we humans are like the ice cream? Mmm, ice cream!
Understanding Our Whole puts forth the theory that the global human society is a multizoa organism - that is, a biological organism made from many animals.
It then lays out the various characteristics of multizoa organisms, like the fact that they feed, that they can reproduce (oh, mama!), that they can evolve over generations, that they can act, think and even get sick, all the while using our human society as an example.
And because the author wanted to have fun writing it, the book breaks down each of these characteristics one by one in the funniest way possible, sprinkled with pictures and puns designed to make both the writer and the reader p*ss their pants while becoming enlightened. So keep the toilet close while reading this. Or better yet, make it a bathroom read.
Who would typically read your book?
Everyone with a sense of humour and a desire to understand how we fit into the larger picture.
Describe what you’re looking for in more detail
What I would like as the book front cover is pretty specific. It involves an artist's rendering of an anthropomorphic Earth in space, turned around and looking at its "butt"...So a combination of the cover for my last book which featured Earth in space, which I've uploaded, and Stimpy from the cartoon Ren and Stimpy looking at his butt, an instance of which I've also uploaded, preferably with the "Stimpied out Earth" having a finger next to its mouth, as if it is thinking (also uploaded a picture of a random guy having a similar pose, just to get a sense of what I mean)... Basically, it's meant to be a funny image of a sucker faced Earth looking at its "(w)hole" and thinking, with the words Understanding Our Whole on top of the page. The subtitle is "A humorous but honest attempt at redefining our understanding of human society" can be placed at the bottom of the front cover, or on the back cover as well if it makes the front cover too bloated.
Is there anything else you would like to communicate to the designers?
Some notable technical specs: The book will be in 6"x9" size, color paper, and will run at 89 pages.

Most importantly, have fun designing the cover, it's an important ingredient for a book meant to be funny all around. I know I had fun writing the book.
Is your design for a hardback or paperback book?
  • Don't Know Yet
What would you like on the front cover of your book?
  • (1) Title
  • (2) Author’s Name
Provide details about your selected choices above for the front cover of the book
The front cover could also include the subtitle "A humorous but honest attempt at redefining our understanding of human society", but not necessary if it makes the front cover too bloated, and could be placed at the back of the book.
What would you like on the back cover of your book?
  • (1) Blurb
Provide details your selected choices above for the back cover of the book
The blurb is the the book description enclosed in the project brief, under the "add a blurb or a short description of what the book is about" section. It may undergo some tweaks as time goes by.
What would you like on the spine of your book?
  • (1) Title
  • (2) Author’s Name
Provide details your selected choices above for the spine of the book
Given that the book only has 23.000 words (although quite a few pictures are included), and runs at 89 pages, the spine will likely be small.
