A play dramatising the reign of Roman Emperor, Macrinus. Set in 217 AD, news of a prophecy foretelling that he will succeed the tyrannical Emperor, Caracalla, Macrinus is forced to kill Caracalla and become Emperor himself. He, in turn, is killed by the remnants of the Imperial family.

Together with the Title and Subtitle, I would like the front cover to state that it is a play by the author.
In terms of design my initial thoughts are along the lines of the Penguin Classic series - plain back background, minimalist, uncluttered.
My son has done a mock up which I enclose which is broadly in line with what I'm looking for - it just needs the professional touch.

When Praetorian Prefect, Macrinus, learns that a prophecy is spreading in Rome that he will depose and succeed the tyrannical rule of Emperor Caracalla he is compelled to act to save himself, his family and his friends. As events unfold so too is the ultimate function of the prophecy, it is not to tell the future but to make it.

I have also enclosed a small image of a coin bearing the image of Macrinus which they may or may not use on the back cover.
