DTG printing, or direct to garment printing, is a technique in which the digital image of your design is printed directly onto the garment.

As compared to screen printing, DTG printing offers a more efficient process. It is both cost-saving and time-saving and needs only one operator per machine.

You must also remember that some placement discrepancies may occur in DTG printing. Because of the human involvement in the process, such discrepancies can't be ruled out. Though we ensure accurate placements while arranging the shirts on the printing pallet, human errors can still be there. So, we set aside a slight shift of the graphic between 0.5" and 2".

But if the placement discrepancies exceed the pre-defined norm, we would take it as a human error and exchange it at our expense. In such a case, we recommend to contact the customer support team (support@designhill.com) and share the photo of the product laid out on a flat surface and the design measured horizontally/vertically.

Yes, you can print on the sleeves of your selected custom apparel. Designhill has recently introduced a feature to the new interface which lets customers, print on either of the sleeves, front, back, outside label, or inside label of their apparel. The process is extremely seamless. Just choose the t-shirt that you want to print and select one option (left sleeve or right sleeve) from the left panel. Now, you can add your artwork or text using the right panel. If you don’t have a design of your own, you can choose one from our library of artwork.

You're always advised to upload a high-resolution design for good quality printing. Make sure the design doesn't get blurred when uploaded. Your print files should be at least 150 DPI and at actual size. You can check the quality of your design by using DPI meter in the edit panel.

There are plenty of printing options today, but Designhill uses some of the most popular printing methods that are as follows—

Screen Printing: We use it for bulk orders. If the order is for more than six pieces of garments, we print them using this technique. In this method of printing, only one color can be applied at a time which restricts the number of colors on a t shirt. Therefore, Screen printing method is widely used for a simple design that requires only one color, or when you've to print a large number of t-shirts of the same design.

Direct-to-Garment: We usually use this technology to print the majority of our products but when the order is of less than six garments. It allows printing images in much higher detail than screen printing and doesn’t restrict in color. Since it can print any image, you get plenty of customization options.

DTF (Direct to film) Printing: Under this printing method, the designs are printed on a special film and then transferred to the fabric with the help of heat.

Sublimation Printing: This digital printing method utilizes three factors, heat, pressure, and time, to print on different materials. First, the design is printed on transfer paper using sublimation inks, and then it is transferred to the fabric using a heat press.

Cut & sew Sublimation Printing: In this method, the fabric utilizes sublimation printing to create an all- over design during the manufacturing process. It involves printing the design on a large paper and then transferring it using heat to the fabric. After that, the fabric is cut and sew according to the requirements.

UV Printing: Under this process, we use UV light to dry ink onto fabrics. The UV light polymerizes and hardens the ink.

Embroidery: In this process, the design is embroidered on the fabric using threads and needles.
