Asking About His Artistic Journey, He Says-

Mantas Tamosaitis

“I enjoy drawing, designing everything that seems cool to me personally. I have been enjoying it since my childhood when I made copies of the Dragon Ball Z stickers from bubble gum to my notebooks. That time I was only 7 years old and my teachers loved it. Growing up and after getting a PC, I started taking interest in editing programs like Photoshop to create sizzling artwork. After graduation from school, I decided to get qualified for Visual Advertisement Producer. Thereafter, I got in love with printmaking. With handsome experience in working with prints, I found myself back to my drawing hobbies again which made me seek to show and connect my printmaking experience with the creative side of childhood to the world again. I’m crazy about Cloth Styling and Streetwear Artwork. That’s why I started creating my artwork for apparel and I work alongside artists to design, produce, market, and sell streetwear clothing and accessories. PrintShop is helping me a lot in this. I design my art for apparel and sell on PrintShop where you can buy my art.”

PrintShop: What’s your process of creating a piece of artwork and what tools and techniques do you use?

Mantas: I use an iPad pro with Apple pencil and work fully digital right now. But I used to draw with pencils at first. Mostly I start with thinking of what elements I want to draw, making the composition of those things, to suit well for clothing. After doing the light sketch, I start clean inking of my artwork and adding details, colors, etc.

PrintShop: How do you find inspiration and stay creative?

Mantas: I get inspired just by drawing and not waiting for that ‘perfect’ moment to kick in, checking out works of other artists I admire or getting known with different cultures in the world, meeting and talking to different peoples around the globe. It just only drawing.

PrintShop: Did you face any challenges in your artistic journey? If yes, How did you overcome it?

Mantas: I found the biggest challenge – it’s creating what you like and combining it with what people like and mostly what they are seeking to buy. Because at the end of the day, we all hustle to make a living off things we enjoy the most. I’m still learning to combine these things every day!
