Every human being is an artist and the job of an artist is to offer a sanctuary of beauty to an ugly world. The ideology of creating art is not limited. Anyone can create art using his/her imagination. In ‘Being An Artist’ series, we introduce artists to our global community and encourage them to use their artistic imagination to live-in. In this post, we’ve shared about an artist cum architect-designer hailing from Ukraine.
Meet Stepan Maslianka. A loving father and wonderful husband from Ukraine who believes to cherish every moment and acknowledge it for his inspiration. He’s an artist, architect-designer and a part-time entrepreneur. He has been designing various artwork and creatives for 2 years. Though his main source of career is architect design, in his free time, he has been working as a freelancer and earning huge bucks through his artistic skills.
Irrespective of his full-time architecture job, he has explored various platforms to showcase his passion for art. He has joined hands with PrintShop by Designhill and shined high as one of the aspiring artists on board. Today, he’s quite popular for his vivid artworks and winning the hearts of millions.
When We Asked About His Artistic Journey, He Shared:
“It’s said that architecture is a visual art and the building speaks for themselves. I’m living the art every day. Since childhood, I’m crazy about art and beautiful paintings. During my school tours, when we used to go to museums, I used to wonder and appreciate the work of architects who have created such beautiful buildings. Each building has its own story and the architect is the well-played narrator. Following my passion, I decided to get a degree in architecture and start my career journey as an architect. I must say, the best decision I’ve taken in my life, shall I say the second-best decision. First was getting married to the love of my life (he chuckles and said, she might be reading it, rofl). I have been designing creative artworks for sale for 2 years. I considered it a hobby for me and a business that I enjoy in my free time. My main job is architect-designer. 2 years ago, I came to know that I could share my artwork on various online platforms and make money like other artists. I have loved drawing all my life and would continue to do so. I have registered to PrintShop and started creating as well selling artwork for apparel and other products. And, I’m glad people are loving my work. I appreciate that.”
PrintShop – What’s your process of creating a piece of artwork and what tools and techniques do you use?
Stepan – As I have said, I’m fond of drawing sketches. I use very easy ways to create my artwork. Being an architect, you get a habit of creating using pencils and a piece of paper and start creating sketches of your imagination. Similarly, first, I always draw on sketching albums. Later, I create the same art in Photoshop.
PrintShop – How do you find inspiration and stay creative?
Stepan – I may sound cheesy but I am often inspired by my family, my beautiful wife and son. Also, I get a lot of ideas from online platforms like Pinterest and many aspiring artists I subscribe to. You feel motivated watching artwork of various artists. There is so much creativity in the people. I’ve always been looking for something new and interesting.
PrintShop – Did you face any challenges in your artistic journey? If yes, How did you overcome it?
Stepan – Not very. I’m a positive person. I accept each hurdle with an open heart. Plus, I feel challenges make you perfect. Therefore I don’t feel any kind of hurdles in my career journey. Everything is going smoothly as per the plan.
PrintShop – What is the best advice you’ve gotten as an artist or the most important thing you’ve learned?
Stepan – There will always be time for a favorite affair and at least part of a clean sketch sheet. Artists can easily understand this. He Chuckles!
