Google introduces a new search console logo design

Google Search Console has unveiled a new logo design. This marks a deviation from its old version of the logo, which featured a toolbox-style visual. The new logo shows a bar chart with a magnifying glass in a corner. The new logo was revealed recently by special media channels of Google Search Console. 

The logo has been launched at a time when Google is updating its visual identity across its various product ecosystems. Already, Google had updated its iconic ‘G’ logo in May 2025 after 10 years to give it a vibrant appearance. 

Why was the Console logo redesigned?

According to the official Google Search Central announcement,’’ Search Console has a new icon! The toolbox icon served us for a long time, but it's time for a new design," The Company explained, "We thought about what would communicate our mission to help publishers and creators grow on Google and, of course, a bar chart had to be included."

Reflecting new capabilities 

Google redesigned the console logo to reflect the platform’s new strategies and capabilities. The search engine wanted the logo to represent the enhanced capabilities of Google’s webmaster tools. Recently, the console launched new discussion forums appearance filters. The console had recently integrated search console insights into its main interface as of June 30, 2025, replacing its beta version that had been operating since June 2020.

Representing new infrastructural improvements 

Google updated its Console logo design, also in line with the infrastructural improvements underway at the company. The company updated Search Console documentation and introduced comprehensive tables that gave details regarding search appearance types, bulk export fields, and API values. 

The console logo has a magnifying glass as its chief attraction. The announcement from the company has said, ‘’ Then, the magnifying glass, which is about helping you identify issues and opportunities on your site. And we also aligned with the Google brand: it's fun and colorful.’’ 

So, the new console icon incorporates both investigative and analytical elements. It features a bar chart that represents the Console, providing users with access to its performance analytics. The magnifying glass symbolizes the Console’s ability to identify optimization opportunities and technical issues. 

Also, Google has introduced new technical developments, such as, incorporating multiple features into the Search Console. For instance, hourly data support was added to the console’s Search Analytics API. The updated Console icon represents all such developments and capabilities.
