Elon Musk introduces Grok 3 logo design
Elon Musk has introduced the logo of his xAI startup’s latest invention — Grok 3. He shared an image of Grok’s logo design on his official handle, which resembles a black hole generated by AI.
While announcing the launch, Musk confirmed that Grok 3 is better than OpenAI’s ChatGPT and China’s DeepSeek. He live-streamed the AI model on X.
The term “Grok” derives from the sci-fi novel ‘Stranger in a Strange Land,’ by Robert Heinlein. The word is used in the novel by a character raised on Mars. Figuratively, it means “to comprehend.” This terminology is suitable for the Grok logo, since it resembles a black hole.
Black hole is still a subject that’s not fully understood by humans till date. The idea of using a black hole to signify Grok 3 signals at Musk’s attempt to bridging the gap between humans and AI.
The photo also features clouds and a human silhouette looking at the Grok 3 logo design. It clearly depicts the underlying meaning.
The latest model of Grok 3 is powered by one hundred thousand Nvidia H100 GPUs that offer about 200 million GPU hours for the AI model for training. The AI tool is in its Reasoning Beta model. However, it outranks its competitors.
