Château Civrac is a small independent Bordeaux winery.

Under new ownership, are seeking to update our brand identity including brand logo and bottle label design. The design should at the same time represent a centuries old historic French domaine, and a contemporary image to attract a new generation of international customers in British, Japanese, Chinese and US markets. We favour a clean, minimalist design. There should be some reference to the Cotes de Bourg appellation, possibly the prior design, and input from the owner

Front Label

Text should include, in order of priority
1- Brand "CHATEAU CIVRAC"
2- appellation "Côtes de Bourg" or "Bordeaux" (two classifications of wine produced)
3- Vintage year, i.e "2019"
4- Optional, grape variety, such as "MALBEC" or "CABERNET SAUVIGNON"
5- optional, sub-classification "GRAND VIN DE BORDEAUX"

Back Label,

This will include a brief description of the wine, serving/pairing suggestions, and regulatory information such as bottle size. % alcohol, health warnings. The specific content varies from country to country, and will be completed by winemaker. We simply request a template that is consistent with the style of the front label, to be edited as necessary.

I am not married to this design, though would be open to maintaining some elements, such as:
* font, "CHATEAU CIVRΛC" (without the inverted C at the end)
* The vertical window beneath the brand can be kept or adapted, but not essential
While I am looking for a simple, clean design, I find the existing label to be excessively simple

There is a scottish Clan Anderson crest with and oak tree and the "stand sure" motto. This is my ancestral family crest. I do not want the motto transcribed on the label, or a reproduction of the crest. But if elements of it could be subtly incorporated into the design, it would have a special meaning.

Finally, there is an example of a typical "Cotes de Bourg" label. you will find many more if you google image the term. Most of these follow a traditional format, showing a vineyard scene and a representation of the Chateau. In general I find this type of design unappealing and somewhat dated. However, the challenge for the designer is to create a contemporary, elegant label, which still evokes the idea of "PREMIUM FRENCH WINE" "BORDEAUX" and to a lesser extent "COTES DE BOURG"
