“ This was my first time using a crowdsourced design site, and I was quite happy with the process...mostly because I liked getting several different ideas that I wouldn't have thought of on my own, and because I ended up with a design that I really like. If I hadn't ended up with a design I liked, I'm not sure what I would have done at that point. I feel I got lucky - though several designs were good, and there were a few that were exceptional, there were also several where it seemed clear to me that the designers hadn't really read the design brief very thoroughly. That is not a fault of design hill at all, but had I not received a design I loved, I would have been asking what more could be done for me. Overall, I would consider doing this process again. I think it would be great to be able to invite a handful of particular designers whose style you like, to see your project. I have now favorited the designers who came up with designs that I liked the best, so that I can reach out to them in the future if desired. ”

What name do you want in your logo?

I'm pretty sure I want the name in lowercase, as listed above.

It's really the butterfly that's the most important. I want it to look more graphic, simple, bold shapes - not like a realistic butterfly. I just uploaded a document I was playing around with that includes the Bianca font I will be using on the site for some of the headlines, along with a butterfly that I found online - just to give you an idea of what I had in mind, though I am open to other ideas and I'm not at all attached to that color, it was just one that I could select in Word for some contrast. I need a unique butterfly.

Black or very dark grey lettering with a strong, tribal looking butterfly shape incorporated. If you search on Google for "tribal butterfly for logo", there are a lot of ideas. It doesn't have to be tribal looking - I am open to other suggestions, but that's where I was leaning. Tribal with a hint of femininity to it. I do want the butterfly to be as if you are looking straight at it and it is flat. I don't want it from the side or like it is flapping it's wings.

I bought a font called Bianca from my fonts.com that I'd love to see incorporated into the design, but it doesn't have to be. I will be using that font for headlines or other stronger text in the blog. Here is a link to it: http://www.myfonts.com/search/bianca/. I've also uploaded a file showing the Bianca font.

I am also open to the idea of just having the butterfly designed, that I can then incorporate using the Bianca font, if the butterfly would be separate from the lettering, or maybe in between the words "the" and "butterfly". This is assuming you might not have access to the font.

It is okay if the butterfly has some color, but it would be awesome if it also looks great in grayscale or black and white. If there is color, I'd like to see something either aqua/green or orange/rust. It would be great if I can edit the colors later if I want to, like making black and white or grayscale versions, or reversing dark and light / background and image.

I did start this blog initially on weebly, but I am also going to be redoing the website. You can get a feel for the look and what it will be about on this page: http://www.thebutterflyeffect.net/blog/previous/3

This will be a lifestyle / personal growth blog geared toward women who are, or want to be strong in mind, body and spirit. It will provide inspiration and motivation. It's for the 30-50+year old women primarily - the types that are natural, outdoorsy, like art or yoga or other creative or self development endeavors.

Some words I came up with for the feel of the site include: unique beauty, strength, flow, open, graceful, inspiring.
