The actual logo, "MHR", is inspired by both an industrial gear and the emblem of the city where the company was founded, Mulhouse (France). We want to keep a reference to that local emblem, since the region is known for its historical excellence in our domain first, and second because we recruit locally. The emblem is a wheel, which could be styled to recall a mechanical gear; note that we do not want to convey a religious symbol (cross), but rather a styled mechanical gear, with a modern touch.

The actual typo is however really problematic. The rebranding is triggered by the pilars of the H which mistakenly reminds of rugby pillars and which obviously needs to be drawn completely differently in the next design. The typo also is quite basic and does not convey anything.

The words most commonly used to describe our machines are "robust" and "long-lasting".

MHR wants also to project its branding in the future, bringing a touch of modernity as witnessed by a very strong commitment towards R&D activities, as well as a constant drive to improve its processes, be them technical or human.

In that sense, we want our image to convey both our industrial heritage (traditional values of robustness and regional identity in the Alsace region), and a sense of modernity.

The new design should convey the ideas of robustness, extreme reliability, heavy industry (metallurgy), engineering.

Sober but massive typo could embody continuity yet modernity.

The colors would therefore be dark (very dark grey, black), but accent touches of silver and/or bright orange are acceptable if needed.

The overall design should be sober and reflect the seriousness of a company which has a century long history & is worldwide known.

Neither ammunition nor arms should be used in the logo as they are too restrictive.

The wheel can be kept but styled to evoke rather a mechanical gear than a religious cross, and why not, developed and styled to convey a value of modernity.

From its foundation in 1919, the company holds a name plate, whose "Art Deco" style is appreciated : bold, clean cut letters in polished silver, flashing on a dark background. This could also inspire the new logo.

Next to the logos we have selected on your page, we are inspired by the logos of EDGE Group.ae & Caterpillar.com
