How to design a letterhead with Designhill?
When you are ready to take your branding to the next level, Designhill’s letterhead maker is right there to help you out. It simplifies letterhead creation for you.
Launch the tool and select from a pre-designed template, or enter your custom letterhead size to begin with. Personalize it with your choice of borders, fonts, and colors. You can even add your company’s logo for relevancy.
A letterhead must have three basic details: the company's name, logo, and contact details. Place all these three at the top right corner of the letterhead. If needed, you can include social media details as well.
In case you want to use letterheads as a promotional tool, consider adding unique geometric shapes. It will help you create attention-grabbing design speaking volumes about your style, taste, and sophistication.
A traditional letterhead has a heavy and broader header. But you can be a little creative here to give it a stylish avatar. With elegant headers, the letterhead becomes ideal to be sent to corporate clients.
Letterheads have very restrictive use of colors. But that doesn't mean you can let your imagination run wild. You can use elegant colors that are acceptable with a flair of creativity. Add colors like red, blue, and yellow for lifting readers' moods.
Besides colors, typefaces are yet other crucial elements in letterhead designing. Large and bold typefaces are the best way to drive attention. Add your company's name in a larger font for easy memorability.
Letterhead Design Mistakes To Avoid
Some of the most typical letterhead design mistakes to avoid are:
Color overload or wrong color choice
You may think that your letterhead color choice is excellent. But little do you know that it might be a
mistake. The overuse of colors makes your letterhead look crowded. Use excessive detailed graphics or gradients as they may overlap the message you want to convey to your audience.
Adding too much information
When choosing a letterhead size or creating a custom one, keep in mind that you cannot include everything in it. Adding too much information may overwhelm the audience. So add only relevant information and leave the rest.
Adding too many images
Adding too many images can make your letterhead look overcrowded. Also, readers may struggle to get
the exact message you want to convey. To fix this problem, we suggest you use the executive or standard letterhead size. But do limit the use of images.
Wrong typeface/font style
The right selection of font style adds to your letterhead’s effectiveness. But the wrong selection ruins this purpose. Pick a font that is easier to read and use.
Too many or no focal points
Is there a focal point in your letterhead? If not, add one. But make sure you’re not using too many focal points as they may confuse readers.
Here are some of the best ideas for your letterhead:
It should be visually engaging: In today’s marketing sphere, what looks good gets good traffic, engagement, and sales. Your letterhead design should be visually appealing.
It should create buzz for upcoming events: If you have events such as seminars, webinars, concerts, charity-related events, or something else coming up, you can feature them in your letterhead. Sending a letterhead is the best way to inform your audience about an upcoming event.
Feature your products and their benefits: it’s purely sales related, but letting your audience know your products’ benefits can compel them to visit your brand. Hence, you will have a competitive edge.
Feature your storefront: add the pictures or images of your storefront for awareness. Get cool visuals of your store first, and then feature them on your letterhead.
