Phantasm Software

Phantasm Software is a brand new startup where I and a few helpers develop video games (for the PC, NOT console) and other educational software for the blind and visually impaired. This is a new genre of gaming and uses 3D binaural audio to produce fun gaming experiences without any visuals, whatsoever.

The target audience is not just the blind and visually impaired, however. We are targeting all gamers to try out a new experience. Our marketing angle is less "games for the blind" and more "audio games", despite the title of this project. "Games for the blind" is just the quickest way at describing what we do. We are developing dramatic stories and interactive gameplay, using nothing more than 3D sound to guide the player. This lets the player's imagination run wild as the events unfold in the game around them.

As previously stated, we are also working on educational software to help blind and visually impaired children learn. I specifically chose "Software" rather than "Entertainment" or "Games", because we don't know where this technology will take us and I did not want to limit myself to "just games". As such, I don't want the logo to scream "fun and games", but rather focus more on the technology and the player's/user's interaction with it. Something a little more sophisticated and modern (but retaining mystery and "cool-factor").

The word "Phantasm" is perfect for this endeavor, because it conveys multiple relevant meanings (see the attached image). Those definitions are what I'd like you to design around: A "mental image", a "creation of the imagination", the "mind's eye" (literally or figuratively).

It goes without saying, but I also want to be able to brand this out to our social media pages, our website, have banners and backgrounds on those social media pages, and many other applications.

In terms of color scheme, I am not sure what would look the best, so I am looking for some creativity on your part there. The previously-mentioned buzzwords and phrases (IE: "mind's eye") makes me think of purple and black/silver colors. But I know purple is not a common color and is hard to market., especially for the gaming and software industries. I have always really liked how blues, whites, and silvers look together as well, so please try something with those also. I do not think warm colors would fit this design, but I am open to seeing alternative options. Just do what you think emulates the feeling and branding of the name and concept.
