What ideas do you have for the style/theme of your website design?

Unique icons for the topics we cover would be awesome to see (eg, biochemistry, physiology, immunology). A simple, modern, sketch for each of these would be great. A very unique feature of our brand is the fact that we use images that tell stories to help students memorize difficult information (image mnemonics) AND we have conceptual white-board style lectures. Some illustration of unique design to help emphasize this would be nice.
What websites can designers draw inspiration from?

Uworld.com, onlinemeded.org, amboss.com
What do you like about these site?

I like how they are simple and clean. I like the bright colors used in amboss.com and onlinemeded.org. I like how one image covers the entire screen on the home page and also covers the logo and buttons at the top of the screen. I like how the menu is simple.
What would you like on each page?

Homepage: we want a large image covering all of the buttons and logo at the top. We'd like a button that directs customers to buy the product and another one the directs them to browse our video library. We'd like a segment highlighting the fact that we have image mnemonics and conceptual lectures. We'd like a segment showcasing the idea of us covering all of the material med students need for all four years of medical school and that we help them succeed on Step 1 and Step 2. We'd like a customer reviews area and an area at the bottom where they can see prices/buy the product.
List any colors, themes or other elements that you don't want included.

We are looking for something bright and modern. I think avoiding darker color schemes may be good.
Is there anything else you would like to communicate to the designers?

If you go to our website (Physeo.com) you can get a sense of our company. It would be good to have a placeholder for a video at the top of the page. Also, if you scroll down and look at the segment that begins with "A comprehensive video library" you can see several custom images illustrating some topics (eg, embryology, microbiology, etc.). We may want to replace these with simple small designs that highlight the idea. So for example, for biochemistry it would be nice to have a small clean sketch of a double-stranded helix of DNA (just a potential idea of what could be created).
