THEME: Strong Black WomanMEDIUM: Charcoal Pencils on PaperSIZE: 16/20 inchesWhenever I see a beautiful, strong and a successful Black woman, I see a human being that has fought two major battles and came up tops: The war against Gender inequality and Racism. Not only is she unfairly trained by societal standards to think and live less than a man, she wakes up daily to the limitations that come with the colour of her skin. She feels deeply and loves fiercely. Her tears flow as abundantly as her laughter. She's both soft and powerful, both practical and spiritual. In essence, she's a gift to the world.Do you have any Strong African Women around you? Give them a hug and never hold back your love. They deserve it all.
I've had a beautiful life, as the first child amongst 6. And having explored other fields of life and an MA in Conflict, Security and Development, I finally accepted my place as artist. This has brought so much joy to my life, and my community. And now, I no longer have to prove my love. I simply show it by the beautiful stories I tell with my pencils. With each beautiful story, is a deep connection between my audience, who enjoy reading my inspiring articles, and my works, daily creating the little blocks that build the best, which is certainly yet to come.
