Árbol de Plata means "Tree of Silver" in Spanish (that's the literal translation, a more accurate translation would be "Silver Tree").
It is a personal finance blog written in Spanish and aimed at residents in Spain.

The choice of words represents a word game in Spanish and is also full of symbolism, which I would like reflected in my logo:
1) Word game: "Tree of silver" in Spanish literally means a tree made out of silver but in street/informal Latin American Spanish "silver" can be used to refer to money, so it can be read as "Tree of money" or "Money tree".
2) Symbolism:
(i) In Spanish, the pages in a book are called "leaves" like the leaves in a tree, which I thought appropriate for a blog, which is full of posts/pages.
(ii) The tree analogy is directly connected with the values and philosophy I want to transmit in personal finance:
- Long-term investment and saving, which requires order, discipline, diligence, care and patience, just like when you plant the seed for your tree, which you have to water and take care of as it grows, a process which may take years or decades.
- Diversification, reflected by the increasingly greater number of branches as the tree grows.
- A solid foundation for the financial plan and staying the course rain, hail or snow in the financial markets, represented by the ever-growing roots.
- Honesty, truth and wisdom, commonly represented by the symbol of a tree, and should permeate all the personal finance advice given in the blog.

I guess as the literal sense is that it's a tree made of silver, the use of grey or similar silver colours would be in order. Maybe fit in some green as it is the colour commonly associated with money, but I leave that to your criteria. Feel free to use the colours you see fit.
For additional reference, I do like "tree of life" style images and the YNAB (You Need A Budget) personal finance app logo.
The blog can be found under http://arboldeplata.es/ and it is using the WordPress Thrive Themes Performag theme (I have not started working on the website yet so you can find an already set up demo under http://demo.thrivethemes.com/tt/?theme=Performag the "Blog" link should be a better reference of how it will look like, the black header need not stay black when I modify it.)
Anyway, the above are just ideas to inspire you and meant as reference but feel free to get creative if you think up something really original, which you think I may like.
Finally, needless to say, it is a logo so keep the design and colours simple, memorable and likeable/brandable.

Thanks a lot for your time, effort and participating!
