A Rugby Shop that deals with rugby essentials acquired a nice winning logo when they launched a logo design contest on the designing platform of Designhill. The client got their logo designed as per their design specifications which were in accordance with the rugby sport. Rugby sport as we all know is a free flowing game where a team wins on the maximum number of goals scored by them. Since, the client is a Startup Rugby Specialist who caters to the biggest range of rugby clothing, equipment and merchandise for players and supporters both, they wanted their logo to depict that in a nutshell. The client received host of logo designs to choose from, as the contest was timely addressed by over 22 designers from different places. This helped Rugby Shop to make a comparative study among the designs received and then arrive at a logo that best describes their sports merchandise. Through design contest the winning logo designer, Shaylewis88 received a cash prize of $379.
The winning logo design for the Rugby Shop has all the essential elements that represent their business in a symbolic form. The logo predominantly incorporates a rugby ball and the name of the shop appears just underneath,underlining the client’s specific business type. While the name Rugby is in a bigger font and a different color from the word Shop, it offers a contrasting look to the design of the logo.However, everything in the winning logo is as stated in the design requirements of the client.
Client had clearly specified that the logo should be a combination of two words ‘Rugby’ and ‘Shop’ and the latter should appear below the former. They wanted a symbolic icon of the rugby sport in the letter ‘o’ of the word Shop or the icon to appear separately with the logo. Essentially, they wanted a logo design that carried the symbolic notion of Rugby while giving an impression that their shop deals with the concerned sport stuffs.
In effect, the winning design is an indication of the fact that clients are exactly looking for a simple logo design that is created after taking into consideration their full design specifications and utilizing them to the optimum.
Through Designhill’s expanding crowdsourcing platform, the owner of the Rugby Shop received huge responses from 25 designers who had sent over 65 entries for the contest.
